Join us for our 4th Annual Footgolf Tournament! We know they’re are lots of supporters groups in Austin for a variety of Clubs around the world as well as here in Austin! Wear your favorite soccer kit (jersey) to represent the club you support. AND, there’s a new twist this year to bring more supporters groups together: the winning team will be playing for their supporters group’s cause in addition to bragging rights! We are asking the leadership of each participating supporters group to designate their local nonprofit cause that will receive part of the tournament’s proceeds in the #ATXCommunityShield!
If you have not played footgolf before, it is a blast! The tournament will consist of two-person teams, each paired with another team (4 players total per hole at a time). The Harvey Penick Footgolf Course is 18 holes. Bringing your own soccer ball is your best bet (if not, a limited supply are available on site for a $5 rental). A Size 5 soccer ball is recommended for adults. Dress appropriately: golf or active wear; indoor soccer shoes or tennis shoes; no cleats or bare feet. Golfcarts will also be available for rent.
In an effort to facilitate social distancing and avoid crowds of players gathering at the course, we are going to us rolling tee times all starting on Hole 1, rather than shotgun start on all the holes at once. If players are gathered, masks will be required and the event will comply with all local health guidance policies.
All proceeds will go towards the Austin Soccer Foundation and the charity designated by the winners of the ATX Community Shield!
