Since 2016, the Austin Soccer Foundation has distributed over $85,000 in academic scholarships to 35 local athletes from 21 high schools so they could continue their education in college. The foundation has also partnered with local schools and organizations to donate over $300,000 for field, player, and referee development. Run entirely by volunteers who support our goal of fiscal responsibility, only 2% of all donated funds have been used to support administrative costs.

Player Development

ASF was proud to partner with the Texas School for the Deaf in development of a women’s soccer club.  The Lady Rangers played their inaugural games in the 2017 spring semester in uniforms donated by the foundation.  ASF used funds from the inaugural Austin Soccer Awards Banquet to purchase a pair of goals which will further assist their coaches and players in their training and development.

The foundation has also been proud to partner with Red Cross of Texas, Verde Leaders, Cap City Soccer, Roots Futbol and Millennium Soccer through player development events and equipment donations.

Academic Scholarships

ASF’s annual academic scholarship program assists graduating high school seniors from the Austin soccer community with their college education.  We believe every participant needs to have an education to prepare them to be contributing members of our community, during and after their soccer careers.  The scholarships may be used at any college or university, and are based on need, academic achievement, and community involvement.

Field Development

Austin Soccer Foundation has partnered with area schools to provide soccer goals for the Texas School for the Deaf and Robertson Elementary, construct a futsal court for IDEA School Montopolis, and donate over $10,000 in equipment for Austin ISD, supporting 60 teams at 32 middle schools and high schools.
The foundation has also partnered with Austin Men’s Soccer Association (AMSA) to provide annual field maintenance for Onion Creek Soccer Complex, which is used by AMSA, Austin Community Soccer Association, Lone Star, Westlake FC and STYSA. The Foundation also partnered with AMSA for the purchase of 20 new goals for Onion Creek and the donation of 18 refurbished goals to Austin ISD.

Referee Development

ASF is expanding the pool of available referees by encouraging youth to explore refereeing and removing economic barriers to entry. This grassroots initiative includes an introductory course which prepares students to referee friendly games. Serious candidates are provided with referee gear and encouraged to seek formal training and licensing with partner organizations.
